Random Movie Ramblings

We are starting a new feature on the site; we are going to rotate picking movies for each other that we either haven’t seen or haven’t seen in years and just write whatever random thoughts come out. It will be interesting to see how they all turn out. We will be doing at least one of these a week going forward so check back for more updates and watch for the posts to pop up.

Welcome!!!

We have exciting new updates to the Bleed Geek Movies website to let you know about.  Recently we made the decision to allow take the monthly movies segment from the regular Bleed Geek podcast and let it spread its wings to fly on its own twice a month with its own podcast.  We will be planning to record these podcasts on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month (the first one was just posted up on the website, and we will be recording episode 2 tomorrow night).  During the podcast we will discuss the latest movie news, give reviews for new films, and of course in true Bleed Geek fashion we will go ahead and talk about whatever else we feel like.

On the website we will continue to post reviews for the new movies Dave and I see.  Here at Bleed Geek Movies we use a Popcorn bucket reviewing system, where 5 Popcorn is our highest score and 0 buckets would be lowest.  Along with the reviews we will continue to post trailers for upcoming movies that we are excited about   Another new element that you will notice on the site is that we have reopened the comments section.  When we first launched this site nearly a year ago the comments quickly became filled with spam so we closed the comments section.  Now the comments will be run through Facebook, which should cut down on spam comments (though I will miss the encouraging spammers that would tell me how much they appreciate this blog site).  Now that this is up and running I am looking forward to posting some best of lists and articles that will hopefully lead to some conversations in the comments section.

Please go and check out our new Facebook page www.facebook.com/BleedGeekMovies, and give us a like.  You can now also follow us on twitter @bleedgeekmovies.

Hopefully you will find the Bleed Geek Movies site a fun place to come and talk movies with some fellow Geeks.  Enjoy!!

Sven

Bleed Geek Podcast Tonight 3/1/2012

Tonight the Bleed Geek podcast will be featuring its 1st official movie segment.  Tune in tonight at 8:00 pm CST at www.bleedgeek.com/live to hear Mike and Randy bring you this week’s tech news.  This week we will be starting up a new monthly feature where Matt will join in to provide you with a preview for March’s big movie releases (both for in theaters and DVD/Blu-Ray) and we will discuss any big movie related news.

Welcome to Bleed Geek: Movies

Welcome to Bleed Geek: Movies, a new Bleed Geek site for film fans.  The plan for this new site is to share movie news, trailers, and reviews.  For the film reviews we will be using a popcorn bucket scale, going from 1 bucket (cinematic crap), to 5 buckets (for amazing movies).

We will try to get up reviews of new movies as quickly as we can (probably a few days after release), and during weeks when there is nothing new at the theater that we are interested in, look for reviews of movies that are new to home video, or even some classics.

The Bleed Geek: Movies site has a calendar on the side of our homepage where you can look to see what movies will be released on a Friday, and what the DVD/Blu-ray releases will be on Tuesdays.

Finally as a part of the Bleed Geek family we are looking to add a new monthly feature to the Bleed Geek podcast where we will talk about movies, don’t worry though Mike and Randy will still fill you in on all of the latest tech news.  The current plan is to podcast on the 1st Thursday of the month, though we will keep you updated if that changes at all, and you can always check the sites calendar for when it will be.

We hope you enjoy the new site.
