Happy Wednesday everyone, hope you have your rain gear and canoes packed!!! Supposed to be a LOT of rain tonight!
By now.. Most everyone is on a newer computer.. Or so you’d like to think.. With new PC’s comes new versions of Internet Explorer. Microsoft’s default hand built web browser. IE has got a lot of flack in the past for being a very non-secure browser, very buggy, and a huge resource hog. The older the version you have the worse it is! In my random interweb searchings today a friend pointed me out to a website The most current version of IE is 9 and 10 is just around the corner with Windows 8. The United States is doing rather well with just .8% of the population still using IE6. (Note… IE 6 was released in 2001 and was released with WinXP-first release). You’d think with China being the tech booming area that it is.. that they’d be on newer versions.. A very SHOCKING 23.8% of all users are still on IE6. WOW. If you’re still on IE6 Chances are your PC is old… The prices have dropped so much now that it’s just silly to have an old PC anymore.. (you can buy a 3 year old laptop or desktop for UNDER $300).. Go turn in those beer cans and get it done!
We’ve talked in the past about Oracle suing Google over patent infringements over some Java API’s.. The jury’s verdict is out. Google is not guilty of any sort of patent infringement. This isn’t quite the end of the case for Google/Oracle. Google has won the first battle, but now it’s up to the judge to decide if structure, sequence, and organization of Java APIs as well as 9 lines of code are actually “patentable”. Google will need to pay at most $150,000 per infringement if this code is indeed patented. (Google, you’ve got the cash, just make it rain around them!!!!)
