Happy Tuesday all. 11 shopping days left until Christmas!!!!
Best Buy appears to be struggling this Christmas season. Reporting a loss of 29% in sales from this time last year. Even with the huge discounts and sales they’ve been having. They are getting beat out by Amazon, Walmart, and Buy.com. It’s hard to beat some of the sales. MY current example. My wife and I just purchased a new digital camera (old one broke). Well, me being me. Reading blog posts, reviews, and looking up prices, I decided to go check it out @ Best Buy. (Canon S95). Hoping that since the new S100 was out they’d have some sort of deal going on for the S95. It WAS indeed on sale, what kind of discount since it was on “Clearance”? $400 normally down to $359.99. Nice $40 off…. So, me being the saavy shopper that I am. I decided to go back home before I decided to pull the trigger to see what the deals for this cam were online. I hit my first shop (Amazon). $295 with FREE shipping. SOLD!!!! Best Buy is going to have to get their act together and start either beating or matching at the very least prices people find online. With today’s generation growing up to be the now current main stream shoppers. Hey Best Buy.. Yea, we’re interweb smart. We check prices and shop around for the best deals. Get your act together if you don’t want to end up like Ultimate Electronics.
Google announced today that they are allowing FREE calls through the gmail – google voice app to anyone in the United States through 2012. (Yea, you read that right… FREE). You’re saying.. Well.. Bleed Geek Geeks…. Isn’t it ALREADY FREE?!!!! It is currently, but they had planned on making it a paying service at the end of 2011. Google is just so gracious aren’t they? 🙂
Have a great Tuesday night!
