Battlefield 3 (The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly)

Battlefield 3

119 more days until we can play what looks to be the most graphic intensive game to ever be released for a FPS game. Battlefield 3 is the  newest installment of EA’s Warfare based game which is set to release 10/25/2011. If you want to check some other titles which are trending among gamers, we recommend you to play at this no deposit bonus ireland casino.

Here is a list of some of the best things to look forward to in BF3:

  1. Major environmental is destructible! You could blow up buildings in Bad Company 2. But that was built off of the older Frostbite 1.5 engine. So expect to see bigger and better ways to destroy stuff!!
  2. Micro environmental destruction! In all the games I’ve played in the past. When you shoot a wall, you get one of say… 15 bullet impact sprites (to make it seem “random” and more real). Well.. How about.. when you shoot a wall. You not only get bullet impact but if you keep shooting you get a hole in the wall?! BOO YA!
  3. It’s hard for me to type this as one of the top things to look forward to, BUT They are bringing the prone position back! It was in Battlefield 2 but for WHATEVER reason… They thought it was a good idea to leave it out of Bad Company 2.
  4. 64 player maps will be making a comeback! In Bad Company 2 they limited it to 32 players per map. Which isn’t ALL bad..  But when you’re used to the old days of constant LARGE battles in Battle Field 2.. This will be nice!
  5. Airplanes are BACK! Did you miss them like I did in Bad Company 2? I enjoy heli’s but there’s something to be said about flying around the map for the entire game LOL!
  6. Lastly, Dedicated servers. As it should come to no surprise with the Battlefield series.. (unlike that of it’s arch nemesis COD where they for some ridiculous reason decided dedi’s were a bad idea in Modern Warfare 2.)

The Bad?
I had been struggeling to find anything really “bad” with the game, but after watching the demo’s that have been released, trying to nit pick them, I finally spotted what I was looking for. It’s one thing that they (As well as pretty much all other game makers follow).. The story line and action all appear to be VERY linear. Meaning they’ve set a pre-determined path to which you will be starting at a start point, and moving the way they want you to. I feel that in order to make a game better, the next thing to be done is to make it where worlds and maps are all user driven, where if I see an alley I want to be able to walk down it, or buildings with multiple levels, I’d like to be able to explore those as well.. I’m sure it means countless developer hours. But if they can have that happen, I think you’ll hit the jackpot for the gaming experience.

The Ugly?
Nothing Severe, the only other gripe I had about the game it appears in the demos, that when being shot at, your guys have the brains to run for cover or duck behind something, where the AI for the Axis, they just sit in the open and shoot, It’d be nice to see some more coding done behind the scenes to give them a few more brains.

All and all, looking forward to this game, I guess this year I get 2 birthday days!  I’ll be in line for both Battlefield 3 and the new Call of Duty!
