For this week’s Movie of the Week selection I have chosen another classic film from my childhood that is available to watch on Netflix, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. This is a film that is very hard for me to view without my nostalgia tinted glasses. If the movie were to have come out recently I would probably not enjoy it as much.
As a child Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure cracked me up, and even now as an adult I still enjoy the films stupidity and humor. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter do a good job of providing two likable leads that the audience can get behind and root for. At the same time the film has a few major plot holes (like why does Rufus need to go back in time to help the boys if the future is already perfect, it’s not like anyone traveled back in time to sabotage it) that I did not pick up on as a child but that are much more apparent now as an adult.
And as I learned in the movie, if you are not sure how to end something just yell “San Dimas High School Football Rules!”
Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure gets a score of 3/5 popcorn buckets.
